A wild weather warning has been issued for coastal parts of the state's south-west with many families in the area for school holidays.
The Bureau of Meteorology warned Margaret River, Augusta, Dunsborough and Windy Harbour are expected to endure damaging winds of up to 100 kilometres an hour on Wednesday morning.
The BOM alert said a strong cold front is passing over the southwest of Western Australia.
Damaging winds with gusts to 100 kilometres per hour are possible during Wednesday morning and could cause damage to homes and property.
A wind gust to 93 kilometres per hour was recorded at Cape Natualiste at 5:56am Wednesday morning.
Winds should ease by late Wednesday morning, although cold, gusty and showery conditions will continue for the remainder of Wednesday.
A cold front is moving through the Mandurah area.
The Bureau is also predicting showers, with possible thunderstorms and hail.
