The benefits of meditation are long lasting, the results of a new study show seven years after intensive meditation training the cognitive gains are still prevalent.
Older participants in the study who continued regular meditation over the seven year period maintained cognitive gains and did not show typical patterns of age-related decline in sustained attention.
60 participants who practiced meditation daily for a 3 month period showed improvements in attention as well as in general psychological well-being and ability to cope with stress.
Over time, studies have found meditation to have many benefits including:
