Peel Thunder are the 2026 WAFL premiers.
The Thunder crushed Claremont 16.17 (113) to 7.9 (51) in front of 19,210 fans at Optus Stadium on Sunday.
Sporting 14 Fremantle-listed players, the Tigers were no match for Peel who secured their fourth WAFL premiership and second under coach Adam Read.
Docker Jeremy Sharp took out the Simpson Medal after a dominant display, finishing with 27 disposals, seven inside 50s and a goal.
Speaking to West Coast Radio, Read said he was extremely proud of his side.
"We hit the ground running, came out of the gates with an electric first quarter and first half in general," he said.
"Not sure we were expecting that exactly, I thought we were well prepared but was incredibly pleased to see us start the game in the manner we did and just set up the rest of the day for us."
Read said Peel's alignment with Fremantle represents a connected unit.
"The alignment's in a great place...there were times when it wasn't and I think the on-field success is just a representation of the work that's put in off-field to make sure it's run like a well oiled machine," he said.
"Most importantly the connection between the playing groups has been amazing."
