A Labor election commitment to hold a Bushfire Mitigation summit will be delivered in Mandurah today.
Some of the items at the all-day event include, targets for prescribed burns, local government agency responsibilities and the experience of bushfire volunteers.
Key stakeholders will discuss achievable outcomes for mitigating bushfire and how plans have progressed for the state's rural fire service.
Emergency Services Minister Fran Logan said there will also be updates on the Ferguson report , commissioned following last year's deadly Yarloop blaze.
"This is an invite-only summit that will include experts in their field.
"Many of those attending have spent years working or volunteering in the area of bushfire management."
Public submissions are also welcome and have been open since June 12 and will close on July 9.
