The Peel-Harvey Estuary is closed to crabbing for the next couple of months to protect breeding stocks.
Crabbing in the Peel-Harvey Estuary is banned from September 1 to October 31.
The Peel Inlet, including the channel entrance, Harvey Estuary, Dawesville Cut and all man-made waterways are closed to all crab fishing during this period.
The annual closure protects breeding stocks and allows female blue swimmer crabs to spawn before the fishery reopens on 1 November.
