The City of Mandurah is calling on locals to nominate for a Councillor position ahead of the October 21 elections.
People with a passion for serving the community and contributing towards the decision-making process of local government are being encouraged to nominate for the seven vacancies on Council.
There is one vacancy each on the North and Coastal wards, two vacancies each on the East and Town wards, and the position of Mayor, all with four-year terms.
Nominations open this Thursday, September 7 and close at 4pm on Thursday, September 14.
The City said by becoming involved in your local Council and serving as a Councillor (Elected Member), you will have the unique opportunity to represent your community by contributing towards making important decisions for the future and becoming the voice of your area.
"While serving as a Councillor requires a certain level of community involvement, many previous and standing Councillors carry out their Council commitments while also holding full-time employment."

An information session for prospective candidates will be held at 5:30pm on Monday, September 4 in the Tuckey Room at the City of Mandurah
