Arson Squad are today investigating a house fire in Darling Downs following a potential explosion inside the home.
Police on patrol said just after 9.00pm last night they noticed smoke coming from a house on Hopkinson Road and upon closer inspection found the house to be engulfed in flames.
Fire fighters arrived shortly after to extinguish the blaze.
Authorities found a 42-year-old man in a neighbour's home with significant burns to his body.
It's understood the man was the only person in the home at the time of the fire, he was taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
Reports received indicate that there was an explosion at the house, which has caused significant damage to the property.
Arson Squad officers will attend this morning to conduct further inquiries.
