The City of Mandurah is putting on a farewell party for the old Mandurah bridge before it closes in September.
The community celebration will be held on August 20 and will include live music, activities, memorabilia and plenty of photo opportunities.
Pinjarra Road will be closed between the Mary Street roundabout and Sholl Street to allow residents to walk across the bridge for one last time.
City of Mandurah CEO Mark Newman said so many people have been asking what they'll be doing to mark the closure of the city's iconic bridge.
"Our window was small to organise a big function but it was important to pay our respects.
"You can only fit 1,000 people at a time on the bridge so the City had to undertake a whole range of crowd management issues to ensure it is safe."
The farewell party will be held alongside the Winter Wonderland event on the eastern foreshore.
