The shared path on the new Mandurah Bridge has opened to pedestrians and cyclists with the old walkway now closed.
Pedestrian and cycle access on the old bridge has now closed while the new Mandurah Bridge shared path is open for pedestrians and cyclists.
Access will be from the new shared path from Mandurah Terrace (east) and Mary Street (west).
Vehicle access will remain across the old bridge until the new bridge opens and there will be no need to divert traffic across the Estuary Bridge.
Mandurah Terrace will re-open in mid-September, the date is still to be confirmed.
In mid-September two of the four traffic lanes will open on the new Mandurah Bridge, and the old bridge will close permanently.
This will occur simultaneously – as a result there will be no need to divert traffic across the Estuary Bridge.
Works will commence to demolish the old bridge shortly after traffic is moved on to the new Mandurah Bridge.
When the new Mandurah Bridge is open to four lanes of traffic, cyclists will be able to use the roadway (not shared path).
