Stage one of Falcon’s Novara Foreshore Reserve redevelopment has been completed and includes a new playground area.
The City of Mandurah redevelopment located next to Dampier Avenue in Falcon follows extensive community feedback.
The final design includes space for informal recreation, paths, seating and interpretive signage.
A major feature of the Novara Foreshore Master Plan is the new adventure playground.
The area incorporates a combination of ‘off the shelf’ equipment combined with custom built nature play features.
The new playground will include a 6m high climbing structure, accessible swings, and, in a first for WA, a Miram which is a skate-style play element for older children/youth.
Two fitness nodes have been installed.
These areas will include various fitness equipment items including leg press, butterfly press, chin-ups, plyometric box jumps, trapeze rings and pull up bar.
The upgrades are designed to meet the growing community needs whilst respecting the environmental values of this estuary-side location.
The redevelopment project is a staged development that will be completed by 2020.
