The Department of Fire and Emergency Services is warning residents in the South West to prepare for damaging winds and even a thunderstorm this evening and into tomorrow.
A slow-moving low pressure system is set to pass through the southwest late Sunday night through to early Monday afternoon.
It could affect areas including Albany, Bunbury, Busselton, Mandurah, Manjimup, Margaret River and Perth.
A cold front will hit coastal parts of the South West district during Sunday afternoon and extend over the South West Land Division during Monday.
Showers and thunderstorms could cause damaging winds with gusts up to 100 kilometres per hour southwest of Margaret River to Walpole Sunday afternoon before extending further.
DFES says the weather pattern is unusual for this time of year and better represents winter weather.
It has already forced some event organisers to move their events away from the gusty conditions.
Residents are advised to store or weigh down loose objects around their homes that could be taken by strong winds, causing damage or injury.
