WA Police have charged a Bellevue man as part of an investigation into the fraudulent sale of dogs which has seen thousands of dollars lost by potential buyers.
It is alleged the 32-year-old provided false information to prospective buyers, including information regarding the age and breed of the dogs, vaccination status, the presence of a microchip and using a false name and breeder identification during the sale process.
Authorities executed a search warrant at a residence in Hackett Street, where 25 dogs were located including 16 puppies believed to be as young as one-week-old.
The man now faces a number of charges including 11 counts of Gains Benefits by Fraud.
The investigation is ongoing and he will appear in court at a later date.
