WA Police have impounded 37 cars a day amid a crackdown on hoons with Baldivis topping the locations list for driving offences.
Police are on track to seize a record number of vehicles from hoons and unlicensed drivers this year.
Police Minister Michelle Roberts has told The West Australian police were “just weeks away” from crushing the 10,000th car permanently confiscated from repeat offenders in the past four years.
"Disturbingly, police were seizing an increasing number of vehicles from drivers who were not entitled to be on the road because their licences were suspended or cancelled.
"This sort of risk-taking behaviour on our roads can have tragic consequences."
The West reports police impounded an average of 37 cars daily until June 30, up from about 31 a day last year.
