A 43-year-old man has been charged after allegedly setting fire to bushland in Bertram.
The man allegedly lit three scrub fires north of Price Parkway, near Hero Crescent around 10.35am on Tuesday, December 16.
"Flames from these fires engulfed grass, bushes, trees, and other nearby vegetation," a WA Police spokesperson said.
"Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) attended and extinguished the fire before they could spread to nearby homes."
The Bertram man is due to front the Rockingham Magistrates Court today.
"Timely information received from members of the public was a vital component of this investigation and Strike Force Vulcan officers urge anyone with any information in relation to bushfires to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via www.crimestoppers.wa.com.au," WA Police said.
